While having unclean hear can definitely cause it, greasy hair is typically the result of excess secretion of sebum by the sebaceous glands of the scalp. While some secretion is normal and should happen for a healthy scalp and hair, too much secretion creates that oily limp looking hair. Unfortunately, it doesn’t only make our strands oily, but it also causes itchiness and dandruff. Here is what happens inside our scalp.
The sebaceous glands are everywhere on our body except on the hands and the soles of the feet. The highest concentration however is in the face and on the scalp.
